Q: Does anyone know a great wedding chapel in Las Vegas?
I was looking into the Viva Las Vegas Wedding packages, but I read reviews and a lot of them said the chapel was really run down. Any other suggestions?
A: http://www.alwaysandforeverweddings.com My daughter got married at Lakeside Gardens. The chapel is lovely too.
http://www.aspecialmemory.com We got married there. It's a very nice chapel also.
Q: Backdrop for photos at Las Vegas Wedding?
I'm getting married in Las Vegas next year and will have quite a crowd joining me. I'm having the wedding at a chapel that won't allow me time to take "typical" photos inside, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me a cheap (as in free) place to go on or near the strip that would have a good background for wedding pictures. Thanks!
A: Two great locations come to mind: Paris Hotel and Bellagio Hotel. They both have beautiful backgrounds that you could easily see in your photos from the strip. Congrats!!
Q: Is a las vegas wedding going to be recognized in uk?
Is a las vegas wedding going to be recognized in uk,between a german and a south korean?
A: A Las Vegas wedding is just as legal as a wedding held in a church. There should be no problems getting it recognized.
Q: Inexpensive Las Vegas wedding receptions?
what is an inexpensive place to have a reception for under 100 people, in Las vegas? Next October (halloween) I need to find a hall/room to host a reception after our wedding. We are planning on getting our own catering service, cake etc. but we just need a nice room. Nothing cheap looking or cheesy. Under 1,000$. thanks
A: Ok, first, I've been in the wedding/reception business in Vegas for over a decade and I don't know of many (if any?) halls that let you bring your own food unless it's WAY off-strip... like a club or something.
But, a lot of restaurants will GIVE you the room for FREE based on how much you spend on food.
If you "rent" a room for $1000 you are spending money you don't need to.
Someplace like Cheeseburger (in the Planet Hollywood) has meals under $20/person and a very low or free room rental.
If you insist on renting a room, there's a Knights of Columbus near downtown that is plenty big and you can bring your own food. Also look at VFW's, etc. Also maybe local community centers will rent and let you bring your food.
Q: What do you think about a Las Vegas wedding?
My fiance and I are planning a wedding. Sometimes I think it might be cheaper and better if we just got hitched in Vegas! I mean it's the most exciting city in the world right?
I think it would be cool, i'm just worried about the plane tickets being so expensive! Anyone have any ideas on where I can get cheap tickets?
A: People who tell you Vegas weddings are cheap and tacky have never really experienced Vegas. A Vegas wedding can be as classy and expensive or cheap and tacky as you make it out to be.
There are plenty of venues that will marry you that are gorgeous and many times even better than what you would find at home. Check out Bellagio, Venetian, Mandalay Bay, Caesar's, Planet Hollywood, MGM--beautiful wedding packages at different prices. Outside of the casinos, there are plenty of chapels that will tailor the wedding to your specifications.
My husband and I renewed our vows in Vegas and we actually tell every couple that they should save themselves the money and go to Vegas--it's much more fun and less stress.
Good luck!
Q: Who and what amount should I be tipping during a Las Vegas Wedding?
I am getting married in August, and I would like to know how much I am going to need to put back. There are very few sites on wedding gratuity, and even fewer for destination weddings.
A: the article below covers tipping in Las Vegas - including amounts to tip at a wedding.
Q: Las Vegas Wedding: What are some classy places to hold a wedding?
My fiancé and I are looking to marry in Las Vegas next summer. Do any of you have any suggestions for a hotel/casino that is classy, but not overly stuffy? I want something that is going to be elegant, but I don't want a museum quality to my wedding! It's just going to be my fiance, my cousin, his best friend, and I and they're all pretty outgoing people. I want it to still have class and charm, but I don't want it to feel too rigid! Any ideas? I don't want to spend a fortune either ;)
A: Good question! I just got married in Vegas and am a local here as well. We went with a country club setting-there are beautiful ones out here, but quite pricey. Many of the casinos will be quite spendy and will expect a minimum number of guests.
An amazing wedding setting is at the Venetain hotel/casino, a friend of mine was just married in a white gondola. This package runs about $800 for the ceremony, flowers, officiant and pictures.
You may want to go the chapel route instead. One of my favorites that I always see weddings at is the Little Church of the West. Their cheapest package is $199!! It is also located right down from the Famous Vegas sign-so pictures opportunities are a plenty! If you need any more suggestions, feel free to contact me. I can tell you which areas to avoid!!!
Q: What are the outside of Las Vegas wedding cakes made out of?
I have eaten 2 wedding cakes at hotels down in Vegas, and they both had a "waxing" coating for the frosting.
The outside of these wedding cakes served at hotels - are by no means edible. They seem "waxy!"
A: Well here in Cali there the cakes are just made of regular cake mix-- and the frosting or top of the cake is usually made up of sweet frosting or whipped cream.
Q: How to get info about a Las Vegas wedding...?
I am trying to get as much info as I can about getting married in Las Vegas. Does anyone know any good sites where I can request brochures by mail?
A: I got married there in 1999. All we did was go to one of the tourist booths on the strip and paid about $250. That got us a limo to take us to the courthouse, the chapel, some pictures, and flowers to use for the ceremony. Google would be a great way to find out more.
Q: How do I have the best cheesy Elvis wedding Las Vegas ever? Best place for reception?Money (almost) no object.
Getting re-married in Las Vegas. Want the full Elvis chappel wedding (booked). What is the best stuff for reception etc? I have spent a lot of time in LV but never been to a reception or wedding there. Cheesier the better. Showgirls, Elvis, the whole nine. Within reason, I am willing to spend.
A: My friend went to Vegas recently to get married and we did a lot of searching on the web to find out what you want to know. Here's the best web site we found, plus, I wish you the best with your new love of your life.

Q: What are your recommendations for a Las Vegas wedding reception?
I live on Long Island but I would like to have a wedding ceremony and reception in one of the hotels on the Strip. I have received information from various hotels, But it is a little overwhelming. Does anyone have first hand experience...We would have over 100 people and I would like to have a cocktail hour followed by buffet or seated dinner, open bar for four or five hours and I would like to keep the per person fee to under $250...Any suggestions?
A: We are getting married next weekend at Treasure Island. We are having our reception there as well.
If I had to do it over, I would fly out for a weekend and meet with people and see the site.
There are some beautiful non gaming resorts. We looked into those but, we are having a small wedding. They are geared towards larger weddings
Be ready for people to say they are coming and then back out. It's also hard to get any good room deals.
Good Luck with it all!!
Q: What do I wear as a guest to a Las Vegas wedding?
The wedding is at a chapel then reception/party at Mandalay Bay hotel. Ceremony begins at 7pm.
I don't know whether to wear a long blue silk halterneck dress with flat jewelled sandals OR a short black dress with beading down the front and short sleeves with high black heels.
Please help!!
A: If you are staying in the hotel at mandalay its hard to be overdressed. People dress up nice all the time in vegas so I wouldnt worry about being overdressed. Whatever looks nice and you feel best in. My only advice is to avoid wearing a white dress or veil of anysort... ;)
Q: We planning a Las Vegas Wedding and want to hold it at a hotel. Anyone had any experiences they would share?
We don't want to break the bank, but want to spend enough to have it nice.
A: There is a lot of valuable information here
http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/married.html
Everything from getting a license, the steps to take to picking a wedding chapel.
Q: How much does it cost to get married in a cheap Las Vegas wedding?
I want to know the price of the wedding itself. I know the price of the marriage license is like 50 or 55 dollars.
A: Isn't a JOP courthouse wedding about $50 or so?
Q: I am trying to organise my Las Vegas wedding. Anyone know the cheaper times of year to fly there from the UK?
I want all of my family to be able to come and I don't want them to have to spend too much on flights. I would like to try and have it during one of the holidays so that my cousins won't have to miss any school. Maybe the Easter or end of May break. Will they be expensive times to travel? Thanks.
Thanks, you've all been really helpful.
A: Unfortunately if you want to fly anywhere in the School holidays you are going to pay a premium flights to Vegas are generally cheaper in December and January and hotels cheaper then and in August (as its so hot) but flights form the UK still cost lots in August particularly if you want to fly direct, though the end of August is slightly cheaper than the beginning. We got married in September last year and we flew business for about £1k and people flew direct with Virgin for about £500 - £550 and others flew indirect with US Air for around £400 or direct from Manchester with BMI for about the same. Prices have gone up but I am guessing that the periods are the same. I have found that the cheapest way to get economy flights is with http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-2448804-10414927 and when selecting the flights choose the flexible date option, book your flights as early as possible as generally the prices only go one way. I don’t fly the cheapest way and I don’t fly direct as I don’t like the service, the space or the amount of stag parties that you get on Virgin flights and I fly with indirect with United via either SFO or LAX, I signed up for the economy plus program which costs $350 per year and gives me and travelling partner an upgarde at time of booking giving us 5" more legroom but everything else is the same as economy.
You are too early to get the best hotel deals but if you want help with them let me know, hotel prices are lowest in August, Parts of September December January and February.
There is lots of information here www.vegas-weddings.co.uk and also on http://vegasuncovered.wordpress.com if you need any help it will be my pleasure to share any of my experiences with you and of course bore you with my wedding photos you can contact me via email in my profile on this site.
